Alexis Phifer is not only arm candy. In fact, she proved this with the premiere of her Spring 2008 Ghita runway show. Ghita was actually launched in 2005 but, Alexis certainly has been designing way before being with the Louis Vuitton Don. Graduating from FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) in California, Phifer clearly has always had her mind set on creating a high fashion line of her own. Ghita, which refers to a gem or means “pearl of the sea” is a collection full of fun yet, fashionable party dresses. Alexis’s inspiration is said to be a futuristic touch to the 80’s and is very evident in her 2008 Spring line. Socialites such as Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have already been seen in the threads, and we can probably expect to see more of it in the future… You can currently purchase Ghita at a few boutiques and chains, including Intermix, Henri Bendel and Fred Segal.
