Check out FeFe Dobson's new video "Ghost," extracted from her sophomore album Joy which hits store later this year via Island/ Def Jam. This is my anthem for the moment. I think all the ladies can relate to this song.
Nicki Minaj sat down with Interview Magazine to talk about her weirdo steez, sex appeal and to drop some words of wisdom for young girls.
“I don’t mind being called a weirdo,” says Minaj. “There are a lot of people in hip-hop who are probably never going to get what I do. But, by just being myself, I end up touching a lot more people who might never have paid much attention to a female rapper.” Minaj has worked hard to establish her own voice, writing all her own material and not leaning on sex appeal. “I made a conscious decision to try to tone down the sexiness,” she says. “I want people—especially young girls—to know that in life, nothing is going to be based on sex appeal. You’ve got to have something else to go with that.”
On another note, my congrats go out to Nicki. Nicki's second single "Your Love," is the Number 1 Rap song in the country. This makes "Your Love," Nicki's first solo number 1. POW!
Femcee, Nicki Minaj, took home two BET Awards last night at the 2010 BET Awards. But it was Nicki's acceptance speech for "Best Female Hip Hop Artist," that served up some positive energy into the atmosphere. Nicki said, “I just think it’s so important right now for positive energy among women because I’m fighting for women." She also went on to say, "Thank you to all the female rappers that paved the way for me." I am glad that she is not feeding into the nonsense that is being thrown her way. Lil Kim is that enough homage for you?
Who would have thought that a track would surface that featured the two beefing femcees Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj. Or is it just one beefing femcee (cough) Lil Kim because Nicki is not responding. Anyway, here is a dope unfinished track that sounds like it was recorded years ago titled, "Everywhere We Go," produced by D-Dot. I hope these two ladies can put aside their differences because I think they could be a force to be reckoned with if they would work together. I am fans of both ladies. I bet this will all end up being a publicity stunt and by the end of the year they will release a hot track together. Maybe they could even put Foxy Brown in the mix.
